Call for Submissions: Lagos Theatre Festival Playwriting Competition

Our annual playwriting competition is seeking submissions from playwrights for plays to be produced at the Lagos Theatre Festival 2017 with the theme ‘Rhythm of the City’.  Lagos Theatre Festival (LTF) is the largest performing arts festival in Nigeria and indeed West Africa. It was created to promote theatre in unconventional spaces. Through the festival, theatre makers and producers are supported to expand their practice beyond traditional theatre spaces by creating work that responds to any given space. Lagos Theatre Festival 2016

This year, Lagos Theatre Festival will return bigger and better than ever. The Festival will take place at several venues on Lagos Island and the mainland with a curated programme running alongside a Fringe strand allowing a greater than ever number of artists and audiences to take part. The Fringe will run from the 23–28 February 2016 across venues including Freedom Park and the University of Lagos.

Starting June 2nd, 2015, the British Council will accept entries from youths for its#MyCreativeHustle Competition. Your creative hustle should be related to any of the following sectors:
  • Built/Natural Environment including –
  • Architecture, Interior Design, Urban Design and Planning.
  • Visual and Creative Arts – Film, Fashion,
  • Music, Animation; Visual Arts.
  • Business & Management for the Creative
  • Industries including marketing and advertising; media and publicity.
